Catching Up...

So it's been a long while... we fell off the blogging train a while back! Many things have come to pass over the year or so since we last posted, most significantly the birth of our beautiful son, Aziz Joseph. He was born at home on June 8, 2008 at 6:06am. It was an amazing experience to have him at home, one that I should perhaps write up a whole other ditty on later.

Right now Aziz is sleeping away, enjoying his morning nap. This is the time that I spend getting in a quick shower, having some coffee (yay coffee!), uploading new photos of azizi to facebook and listening to Anna Maria Tremonti on CBC. 

Right now she's chatting about Barack Obama's victory in the US and the disastrous ballot initiative in the states that has succeeded in banning gay marriage in California, Florida and Arizona... I'll never understand how that can even get on a ballot (since when do we get to vote on whether or not to uphold basic human rights?). But I am thankful that the anti-choice initiatives in South Dakota and elsewhere failed! Whew, breathe a sigh of relief for the women of the US of A.

Gotta run, I'm about to lose my precious hair drying and styling time because Azizi's about to wake up!

Longing for summer... already

Here's a picture our friend Keisha just sent us from the summertime. We were on our way to Afrofest, an amazing summertime African music festival in downtown Toronto. Can't wait for next year already!!!

Snowy Vancouver!

Yah, so we went to Vancouver... expecting warm(er) weather and perhaps a little rain and look what we got! But honestly, we loved it. Definitely a city on our "must go back there in the summertime" list!
